BP.21.04 - Prepare Training Materials<br />
Prepare training materials based upon the identified training needs.<br />
B.12.5.1 Description<br />
Develop the training material for each class that is being developed and facilitated by people within the organization, or<br />
obtain the training material for each class that is being procured.<br />
B.12.5.2 Example Work Products<br />
• course descriptions and requirements;<br />
• training material.<br />
B.12.5.3 Notes<br />
Course description should include:<br />
• intended audience;<br />
• preparation for participation;<br />
• training objective;<br />
• length of training;<br />
• lesson plans;<br />
• criteria for determining the students' satisfactory completion.<br />
Prepare:<br />
• procedures for periodically evaluating the effectiveness of the training and special considerations, such as piloting<br />
and field testing the training course;<br />
• needs for refresher training, and opportunities for follow-up training;<br />
• materials for training a specific practice to be used as part of the process (e.g., method technique);<br />
• materials for training a process;<br />
• materials for training in process skills such as statistical techniques, statistical process control, quality tools and<br />
techniques, descriptive process modelling, process definition, and process measurement;<br />
• review the training material with some or all of the following instructional experts, subject matters experts, and<br />
students from the pilot programs.<br />

BP.21.05 - Train Personnel<br />
Train personnel to have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their assigned roles.<br />
B.12.6.1 Description<br />
Personnel are trained in accordance with the training plan and developed material.<br />

Offer the training in a timely manner (just-in-time training) to ensure optimal retention and the highest possible skill level:<br />
• A procedure should exist to determine the skill level of the employee prior to receiving the training to determine if<br />
the training is appropriate (i.e., if a trainer waiver or equivalent should be administered to the employee);<br />
• A process exists to provide incentives and motivate the students to participate in the training;<br />
• Online training/customized instruction modules accommodate different learning styles and cultures, in addition to<br />
transferring smaller units of knowledge.<br />
