Health, Wellness, & Security
Increase awareness and understanding of elder abuse in order to change negative behaviours and
reduce incidence of elder abuse.
Advocate on behalf of seniors that policy makers develop and implement improved policies that
protect seniors who are victims of abuse.
Increase resources that respond to the needs of vulnerable seniors and those experiencing elder
abuse.
Increase resources dedicated to helping to reduce incidences of slips and falls by seniors in our
community and promote existence of these resources.
Increase seniors’ capacity to successfully manage their own health and wellness.
Continuous Learning, Work, & Participation in Society
Create and promote a centralized information and delivery system that can be accessed by seniors
and their formal/informal caregivers throughout Windsor-Essex County through various formats.
Increase the cultural competency of organizations to meet the needs of ethno-cultural seniors.
Supportive, Caring, & Inclusive Community
Increase transportation options that are accessible and affordable to all seniors.
Develop an accredited and affordable home maintenance and repair service which include subsidies
for low-income seniors.
Increase the amount and availability of caregiver support including respite, relief, and education for
formal/informal caregivers.
Create a variety of affordable options and supports that will meet seniors’ housing needs.
