ANCILLARY SERVICES CARDIOPULMONARY CARE/DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING AND RADIOLOGY CARDIOPULMONARY CARE 603-526-5162 The department is staffed with Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) licensed respiratory therapists, who have passed the Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician (CRTT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) examination by the National Board for Respiratory Care, as well as a registered diagnostic cardiac sonographer who is American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) certified. Services include: • Chest physiotherapy • Echocardiograms • Electrocardiograms (EKG’s) • Holter/loop/cardiac event monitoring • Oxygenation evaluations • Pulmonary disorders • Stress Echo Cardiogram • Cardiac stress testing • Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT’s) • Assessment and support of mechanical ventilation • Administration of aerosol medications by a variety of devices 42 DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING AND RADIOLOGY 603-526-5249 The Radiology Department, in conjunction with Valley Radiologists Professional Association, offers routine radiology services, digital mammography, ultrasonography, MRI, 16-slice CT Scan, bone density analysis, and Digital Fluoroscopy. We offer radiological services at New London Hospital and at the Newport Health Center. DIGITAL MAMMOGRAPHY New London Hospital was the first in the State of New Hampshire to offer digital mammography. Digital mammography is accurate, fast, and offers greater flexibility and magnification for women with denser breast tissue. Breast images produced through computerization rather than X-ray film are clear, easy to read, and can be viewed within seconds. NLH also uses I-CAD which is a computer aided detection system. This provides a computerized analysis of a patient’s mammogram to supplement the radiologist’s interpretation. Our technologists are all registered radiologic technologists certified in mammography, and all films are interpreted by Board Certified Radiologists. We are an American College of Radiology accredited mammography site. ULTRASONOGRAPHY Our equipment is an ATL HDI3000 Ultrasound machine. All technologists are registered diagnostic medical sonographers. MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING (M.R.I.) The 1.5T MRI services are available one day every week and two days every other week. COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY (C.T. SCAN) 24 hours a day, 7 days a week our state-of-the-art High Speed 16-slice Scanner is available for a wide range of imaging procedures. All technologists are registered radiologic technologists.
