Editor’s Letter<br />
Writing allows us to reinvent ourselves, to travel to exotic places, and, perhaps<br />
most importantly, to send a message to the world. The Lyricist exists so that our<br />
contributors can share their unique experiences and thoughts with our sojourning<br />
readers. Thank you to all who submit and peruse!<br />
The 2013 Lyricist would have been lost at sea if not for our wonderful crew<br />
of literary-loving students and our fearless captain, Mr. Nate Salsbury, who always<br />
helms us through choppy waters. A special thanks to Dr. Gina Peterman for her<br />
ever-patient counsel, to Mrs. Susan West for her tireless activity in our favor, and to<br />
Mr. Daniel Rodgers, Ms. Haven Hottel, and Dr. Cordelia Hanemann for imparting<br />
their knowledge of design, technology, and poetry to our staff. Without the help of<br />
these and more, the 2013 Lyricist would never have made it safely to shore.<br />
