Writer’s Canopy<br />
Alas stagnant and unyielding<br />
towering walls entrapped me— suffocating buds of writing<br />
until debris of doubt spread tainted seed.<br />
A walk, a venture, a change by the unknown<br />
granted me inspiration to write Nature’s ode.<br />
Within a gazebo—my window—<br />
decadent and fruitful, life began to breathe<br />
unharnessed, unabashed, easier than perceived.<br />
Creatures frolicked, unconcerned for watcher’s eyes<br />
Jubilation, not pride, gifted them purpose in life.<br />
My twisted grove of emerald veil fair<br />
cradling the wooden bridge and whimsical child-marked stairs,<br />
for you my hand embraces a gold, enamored pen.<br />
For you, dear friend,<br />
liquid onyx paints the page in poetic calligraphy.<br />
Within this glade of waving trees and silken dreams,<br />
sands warm sandal-covered feet and naive giggles,<br />
like succulent, honeyed streams,<br />
melt among the warm incantations<br />
of chortling doves and sweet chickadees.<br />
