Gazelle, majestic, leaps through my swollen heart,<br />
Pounded and beaten, a dust cloud rises.<br />
For the times my heart has fallen apart,<br />
I, disillusioned to love’s surprises.<br />
My aching heart is a dry, lonesome plain.<br />
Sun-baked dust and empty grey-skies abound,<br />
cracks in the wistful earth mirror my pain,<br />
