Assumption Parish CIAP Plan Implementation Program
A. Assumption Parish goals and objectives under the CIAP
Assumption Parish identified priority physical features to target for protection and
restoration through the CIAP. These areas are degraded natural ridges and
wetlands that help protect adjacent infrastructure. The parish is specifically
emphasizing the use of existing waterways and the beneficial use of dredged
material to restore these wetlands. Lake Verret Basin is the concentrated area for
all CIAP projects. Efforts will also be made there to improve fishing with
recreational improvements.
B. How Assumption Parish will manage, implement, and monitor the CIAP
Management, implementation and monitoring of the Assumption Parish CIAP
program will be coordinated by the Emergency Preparedness Director, John
Boudreaux, who is listed as that parish’s CIAP point of contact. Administration
of specific CIAP responsibilities will involve the assistance of assigned parish
government departments, including the Office of Homeland Security and
Emergency Preparedness, Public Works, Engineering, and Finance. The parish’s
CIAP program coordinator will also be supported on project specific duties by
consultants assigned to the management and/or supervision of individual projects.
Implementation of individual CIAP projects will follow the priority schedule
reflected in the funding for individual projects in the program allocation budget
sheets for Assumption Parish included in Appendix D of this plan. A detailed
implementation schedule for each individual project will be submitted in
conjunction with the grant application for each project and will be updated once
the grant has been executed and project work initiated.
