Political signs, not exceeding two (2) square feet in size, shall be allowed in any zoning district (anywhere in town). 2. Political signs, not exceeding twenty-four (24) square feet on a vacant lot, are allowed in non-residential zoning districts with the property owner’s approval. 3. Political signs may be displayed from sixty (60) days prior to and until seven (7) days following any election date for which an individual is a candidate or about which a question appears on the ballot. With the election being held on November 2nd this year, which would mean that political signs could not be displayed until September 2nd or later. 4. No signs, political or otherwise, are allowed at any time in the street right-of-way (ROW). The street ROW generally ends behind the utility poles. The Town is still mowing the ROW; therefore, any signs placed in the ROW will be removed. Signs placed in the street ROW may also present a traffic hazard. 5. No signs, political or otherwise, are permitted on any utility poles. Signs in the Town’s jurisdiction found to be in violation of theses regulations will be removed by the Town and/or a notice of violation and civil citations issued.
