Important Notes:
Evaluation
Class expectations generally fall into three categories: attendance, attitude, and ability. These are the
class expectations that apply to all of us:
Attendance
Attend class and be punctual – you can’t learn if you aren’t here!
Please know that missing classes for Field Trips, vacations and extra-curricular activities is a
choice that is made by the student, and choices often have consequences. Missing classes for
any reason generally results in lower achievement, as the student misses the invaluable
instruction and discussion portion of the lesson
Come to class prepared to work.
Use your time wisely – if you work hard in class, you will not have homework!
Attitude
Students are encouraged to actively participate in class. Listening to and contribution of ideas is
highly encouraged as we can all learn from one another.
Hand in assignments on time *Please speak to me well in advance if you are unable to hand
something in*.
Follow all school rules (no cell phones, violence, etc).
Ability
Complete all assignments to the best of your ability.
Ask questions if you need help during class.
If you miss a day of school it is your responsibility to see me or a fellow student for the day’s
instruction and assignments.
I am available for extra help if you need it. Please plan for help and ask me in advance.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at the school at 326-6426 or by
email at handerson@hsd.ca
I look forward to working with you!
learning is that no one can
take it away from you.”
