Conduct trapping <strong>for</strong> arboreal species to allow <strong>for</strong><br />

relocation prior to felling. This will be decided depending<br />

on the area to be cleared e.g. Open woodland species<br />

will be relocated to similar habitat.<br />

Provide a report on the above actions, including any<br />

specific recommendations <strong>for</strong> clearing works (potential<br />

issues to be relayed to the Site Manager immediately)<br />

7.3 Resources<br />

Ecologists are likely to require the following equipment during preclearing and clearing activities:<br />

personal protective equipment (to be provided/funded by <strong>QGC</strong> where necessary);<br />

crow bar or similar <strong>for</strong> rolling/breaking logs;<br />

tree marking spray paint and bright flagging tape; and<br />

hessian sacks, butcher hooks, leather gloves, blankets, transport boxes <strong>for</strong> rescue, cotton bags.<br />

The appointed ecologists are to procure all necessary equipment required <strong>for</strong> the undertaking of their tasks.<br />

A designated area <strong>for</strong> a temporary fauna housing facility will be required to house injured fauna or those<br />

requiring collection/release. This will be established by the EPC Contractor, in consultation with an<br />

ecologist.<br />

Inspectors/Manager and the Construction Superintendent-Clearing.<br />
