MEGA ARTIST
Issue no: 03
and won at the provincial level of the
competition but unfortunately He didn't
make it past the nationals. Q-riosity is not
just solely focused on his music career but
he's also working 8-5 at a local bank, and
he is also writing a hip hop film entitled “IT
IS WHAT IT IS” to be released soon. He is
also a founder of a Hip Hop Battle rap
circuit called "Heads Collide" which hosted
one of the most vicious rap battles on the
1st of Nov 2014 (Double_G vs Q_riosity)
and this battle league will be hosting
monthly rap competitions during 2015. It is
without a doubt that this youngster is
making major moves and will definitely
take South Africa by storm.
iF I KNEW THEN WHAT I KNOW NOW is
one well-thiought-of mixtape with a flair of
nice flows and vernacular rhymes . Q-riosity
feature a list of talented hip hop artist to
name a few BirthmarkQ , Renegade and X-
Man.
Tracks to look out for on the mixtape is
Nkabe Ke Tsibile , a nice and well
produced track with a good message. It
talks about how crime does not pay-which
is something hip hop artists no longer
preach about. Ke Lahlilwe is also one
motivational somewhat inspiring track with
a dope stroy line and draws a picture of the
struggles of life. Bula Mabati on this one
Q-riosity was just showing off his lyricism
skills. He comes too aggressive and
boastful about how he is the dopest MC.
And on this track he actually sounds like
one.
Like every street credible mixtape, If I knew
Then What I Know Now, stands amidst an
array of well composed mixtapes around
the country. The beat selection and
Production of the mixtape is well arranged
and organised. Like any artwork, flaws are
inevitable. Some tracks sound like they
were recorded in a rush, in a low-budget
studio. But all is well that ends well. Get
your own copy to make and rate the
m i x t a p e , c a u s e t h i s i s m y
experience/opinion and feel with regards to
the mixtape.
The whole mixtape deserves three-and-a
half Mega Stars. We looking forward for
a n o t h e r, h i g h q u a l i t y p r o d u c e d
album/mixtape from this outstanding artist.
