Announcements Columbarium Site Blessed This Morning A blessing for the Columbarium will conclude each service this morning. The columbarium is currently being constructed in China, and phase one is scheduled to be installed this fall. For the remaining Sundays in September, members of the Columbarium Committee will be on hand in the Narthex to answer questions and reserve space for those interested. You may also contact Parish Administrator Darren Hochstedler in the church office for additional information or to reserve your space. Why Buy Now? Between now and Easter 2014, niches are available for $1500 for a double niche. Also for people who purchase prior to Easter, the $350 engraving and interment fee is waived. After Easter, the price of niches will increase to $1750 and the engraving fee will be in effect. Purchasing before Easter results in up to $950 of savings. In addition— It provides peace of mind for you and your family It allows you to be among the first to select your location It supports the Columbarium project Wednesday Night Choirs Begin This Week! To the Families of Phinney Ridge Lutheran: We want to invite you to join us on Wednesday evenings for Bread for the Journey. All Kindergarten to Second Grade musicians will participate with new director Linda Strandberg in Cherubs. Everyone in Third to Seventh Grade will join new director Ben Kromholtz in the Choristers. It is important to us that you know that everyone is welcome and that your presence is the biggest gift you can provide. We want to see as many kids in these groups as there are at Phinney Ridge! If you haven’t sung before, now is the perfect time to try it out! We will begin rehearsals on this Wednesday Sept. 18th at 5:30 (Cherubs) and 6:20 (Choristers). We look forward to seeing you there! Thanks ~ Linda Strandberg (Cherubs) and Ben Kromholtz (Choristers) Tuesday Bible Studies ~ 6:15 a.m. Men’s Bible Study (in the Library)~ ~ 12:00 p.m. Bible Study (in Library) ~ ~ 6:00 p.m. Bible Study (in the Choir Room) (come in at the 75th Street entrance) ~ Beginning this week there are two new Bible study opportunities at Phinney. At 12:00 p.m., interested persons will meet in the Library to discuss the readings for the following Sunday. Please bring your lunch. At 6:00 p.m. people will meet in the Choir Rehearsal room to discuss the readings for the following Sunday. Please bring your dinner. (The 12:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. sessions are duplicates.) The longstanding Men’s Bible Study continues to meet early on Tuesday mornings at 6:15 a.m. This group also considers the readings for the following Sunday. All are welcome to these study opportunities. No experience necessary. Readings for the following Sunday are printed in the Sunday bulletin each week. 14
Upcoming Mary’s Place @ PRLC: October 15-22 Please mark your calendars! Mary’s Place is a shelter for homeless women and children that rotates for a week at a time through over a dozen Seattle-area places of worship. We will need meal makers, overnight hosts, van drivers and special helpers. Please look at your calendar that week and begin prayerfully considering how you will help!
