Important Volunteer Opportunity with Aurora Commons
PRLC has enjoyed a fruitful partnership with the Aurora Commons since its launch in 2011
as a loving community space on Aurora Avenue. We now have the opportunity to participate
in a ministry of support to recovering prostitutes who are part of the Commons community.
Would you be interested in forming a PRLC team that will purchase, prepare, and
deliver dinner for a group of 10-14 women one Tuesday each month? If so, or you have
more questions, please mark the Count Me In form and Minister of Outreach Patrick
Meagher will contact you.
Acolyte Training
All 3rd graders and older who would like to be acolytes, please join Tina Georgeson this
morning at 9:45 in the Sanctuary. The job of acolyte is a wonderful way to begin serving as
a worship assistant. This important job is fun and easy to learn. If you can’t make it this
morning, but are still interested in learning, please call Tina Georgeson at 206-784-1336.
School Kits Being Assembled for LWR
To the children who receive School Kits from Lutheran World Relief, the supplies in an
LWR school kit can mean the difference between getting an education or not. Public school
is usually free, but in the places where LWR works, even a few required supplies, like pens
and paper, may be more than many families can afford. And when parents can only afford
to send one of their children to school, girls rarely get priority … yet the education level of
mothers has the biggest impact on development.
PRLC’s Spirited Women will be assembling school kits for LWR over the next few
weeks. If you can help, please bring some or all of these items to go into the kits. Please note
that items must be EXACTLY as described below, or LWR cannot use them:
Four 70-sheet notebooks of wide– or college-ruled
paper, approximately
8”x10.5” (NO LOOSE-LEAF PAPER)
One 30-centimeter ruler
One pencil sharpener
One blunt scissors
Five blue or black ballpoint pens (NO
GEL INK)
One box of 16 or 24 crayons
2½” erasers

Sunday October 13.
THE NORTHEND BIBLE STUDY FELLOWSHIP, a ministry of Trinity Lutheran
College (Lutheran Bible Institute), invites men and women to a monthly Bible Study.
Leading us this year will be Ed and Karen Scott, missionaries to Bangladesh and now Missionaries-in-Residence
at Trinity Lutheran College. Through mission stories and modernday
parables we will be seeking answers to the question "What is Jesus Saying to Us Today?"
We meet at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church,13047 Greenwood Ave. N. in Seattle.
Freewill offerings are taken to benefit Trinity's students. Please come on Monday, October
