THE CANAL 5K<br />
Once again it's time for the annual 5K in<br />
Courtwood. The event starts at 11am on 2nd June<br />
(today) from the local GAA grounds, will <strong>of</strong>fer a<br />
lovely scenic walk or run over 5K along a beautiful<br />
canal side route. The start and finish will <strong>of</strong>fer<br />
toilets and changing facilities and there is loads <strong>of</strong><br />
parking. Top class hospitality guaranteed after the<br />
race with tea/c<strong>of</strong>fee/sandwiches for all. Prizes in<br />
all categories to the value <strong>of</strong> €600 in total will be<br />
presented immediately after the run and the local<br />
family fun day will follow for the afternoon so it's an<br />
ideal opportunity to get out for a bit <strong>of</strong> exercise<br />
early in the day and then enjoy the atmosphere for<br />

Schools Week and were awarded €1,000 to<br />

PORTARLINGTON TIDY TOWNS<br />
In preparation for the National Tidy Towns<br />
Competition, <strong>Portarlington</strong> Tidy Towns<br />
Association will hold a weekly clean up<br />
throughout the summer months. These<br />
clean-ups will happen every Tuesday from<br />
7-8 pm and will focus on a particular area in<br />
our town. Your support for these clean-ups<br />
is invaluable. We would also appreciate it if<br />
you would keep you area clean as judging<br />
commences this month. The next clean up<br />
will take place on Tuesday next 4th June<br />
from 7- 8pm meeting at the Kilnacourt<br />
Roundabout.
