Pritzker’s American Medical Student Association
It takes more than medical school to make a physician
We know that the transition to medical school is an
overwhelming process, which is why we wanted to be
among the first to welcome you to Pritzker and tell
you about one of the most exciting organizations on
campus, the American Medical Student Association!
AMSA is the nation’s oldest and largest independent
student association. Nationally, AMSA advocates for
the interest and well being of patients, medical
students and residents. AMSA’s current strategic
priorities are: Diversity in Medicine, Transforming
the Culture of Medical Education, Fighting for
Universal Health Care and Eliminating Health
Disparities. As a member, you can get involved in
many ways, both locally and nationally.
On the national level, there are many leadershiptraining
institutes and conferences happening all year
long. You can also get involved through summer
fellowships and internships. Here at Pritzker, our
AMSA chapter has a variety of events planned out for
the next school year and opportunities to network and
collaborate with other medical schools in and around
Chicago. We are excited that you chose Pritzker, and
hope that you will join AMSA as well in our venture to
make medicine a better place for students, patients,
and our community.
