COMMUNITY HEALTH CLINIC
Hey MS14!
We hope that you are all having wonderful summers! We also wanted to let
you all know about a great opportunity to volunteer at the Community
Health Clinic (CHC). Here is the scoop:
• What- Providing primary care to uninsured and underserved patients
(taking a patient history, vitals, providing treatment plan with
supervision of physician, and summarizing patients’ case in a written
note).
• When- Monday evenings 4:30pm-9:30pm
• Where- West Town at 2611 W. Chicago Ave (about a 20 minute
drive from campus, and transportation is provided).
• Why- Volunteering at CHC gives you the opportunity to learn how to
deliver quality care to a diverse population of underserved patients,*
meet inspiring physicians and MS4 and MS2 mentors, and acquire
great clinical experience.
• How- Sign up to volunteer at CHC during the Student Activities Fair
during Orientation
*CHC provides care to a very diverse patient population, including members
of large Hispanic and Polish communities. Please do not be intimidated if
you do not speak either of these languages; you are more than welcome to
attend CHC, as you can see English-speaking patients and/or work with an
interpreter.
