<strong>Thames</strong> <strong>First</strong> <strong>Nation</strong> Conflict <strong>of</strong> Interest Rules, and any o<strong>the</strong>r policies that Council declares<br />
subject to this policy.<br />
Council’s relationship with o<strong>the</strong>r organizations, groups and government.<br />
To assist in <strong>the</strong> orientation process, outgoing portfolio holders will ensure that current briefing<br />
notes, meeting summaries and reports are up to date concerning <strong>the</strong>ir portfolio and properly<br />
filed and maintained by <strong>the</strong> Executive Administrator<br />

6.0 UNITY OF CONTROL<br />
Only decisions <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Council acting as one are binding on <strong>the</strong> Administrator.<br />
Accordingly:<br />

Decisions or instructions <strong>of</strong> individual Chief or Councillors or Committees are not binding on <strong>the</strong><br />
Administrator, except in rare situations when <strong>the</strong> Council specifically authorizes <strong>the</strong> exercise <strong>of</strong><br />
such authority by Council motion or <strong>the</strong> Chief’s exercise <strong>of</strong> authority as stated in this policy or<br />
o<strong>the</strong>r policies and laws <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>First</strong> <strong>Nation</strong>.<br />
If an individual Chief or Councillor or Committee member requests information or assistance<br />
without Council authorization, <strong>the</strong> Administrator can refuse those requests that require (in <strong>the</strong><br />
reasonable opinion <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Administrator) a material degree <strong>of</strong> staff time or funds, or are<br />
disruptive to <strong>the</strong> Administrator’s o<strong>the</strong>r responsibilities.<br />
All requests for information must be made in writing. Personal information about o<strong>the</strong>r <strong>First</strong><br />
<strong>Nation</strong> members will not be disclosed except in accordance with <strong>the</strong> <strong>First</strong> <strong>Nation</strong>’s privacy laws<br />
and policies and, in <strong>the</strong> absence <strong>of</strong> which, generally accepted protection <strong>of</strong> privacy measures.<br />
Except as provided in this Leadership <strong>Manual</strong> or o<strong>the</strong>r <strong>First</strong> <strong>Nation</strong> policies or laws, <strong>the</strong><br />
Administrator is <strong>the</strong> Council’s only link to administrative activities and conduct.<br />
