Environmental Science and<br />
Technology, as a partner organization cooperates<br />
in organizing "1st General Assembly of<br />
Inter-Islamic Network on Nanotechnology" <strong>to</strong><br />
be held on 13-15 May at <strong>the</strong> Materials and<br />
Energy Research Center, Karaj, Iran and organized<br />
by Inter-Islamic Network on<br />
Nanotechnology (INN) which is an organization<br />
under OIC (Organization of Islamic<br />
Cooperation) parallel <strong>to</strong> its first General<br />
Assembly. The main <strong>to</strong>pics of this General<br />
Assembly include:<br />
"Systematic development of Nano-technology<br />
network according <strong>to</strong> a strategic planning and<br />
future studies.<br />
"Promotion of cooperation and encouraging<br />
activities in <strong>the</strong> field of Nano-technology<br />
between Islamic countries.<br />
"How <strong>to</strong> provide easy access <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> new<br />
markets of Nano-technology products?<br />
"New science & novel materials in <strong>the</strong><br />
nano regime.<br />
"Computational Nano-science, simulation,<br />
design and modeling.<br />

Majid Bizmark, <strong>the</strong> Direc<strong>to</strong>r General of<br />
Multilateral Economic Cooperation of <strong>the</strong> Ministry<br />
of Foreign Affairs of <strong>the</strong> Islamic Republic of Iran, also serving as <strong>the</strong><br />
Permanent Representative of <strong>the</strong> Islamic Republic of Iran <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
Economic Cooperation Organization, presented his credentials <strong>to</strong> Dr.<br />
Shamil Aleskerov, <strong>the</strong> Secretary General of Economic Cooperation<br />
Organization on Sunday, March 3, 2013.<br />
In his remarks, M. Bizmark stressed <strong>the</strong> unwavering support of <strong>the</strong><br />
I.R. Iran <strong>to</strong> <strong>ECO</strong>. The Secretary General also expressed gratitude for<br />
all-out supports given by <strong>the</strong> Islamic Republic of Iran for <strong>the</strong> initiatives<br />
and programs of this Organization. Both sides emphasized <strong>the</strong> significance<br />
of <strong>ECO</strong> as an appropriate mechanism <strong>to</strong> promote regional economic<br />
cooperation aimed at sustainable development and improving<br />
<strong>the</strong> standards of living for <strong>the</strong> nations of <strong>the</strong> region. They also<br />
expressed <strong>the</strong> need for fur<strong>the</strong>r interaction between <strong>ECO</strong> and <strong>the</strong><br />
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of <strong>the</strong> Islamic Republic of Iran.<br />
