Demounting Single PIece Wheel and Tire Assemblies<br />
(Off-The-Vehicle)<br />
Tools Required: Cap and core removal tools, bead unseating<br />
tool, vegetable-based lubricant, two 18” tire irons.<br />
If you have any doubt in the correct, safe method of<br />
performing any step in the demounting, mounting,<br />
adding or removing fill, or inflating process STOP! Seek<br />
out expert assistance from a qualified person.<br />
6. To completely remove the tire from the rim, turn assembly<br />
over so the narrow ledge is down and lubricate<br />
the second tire bead and rim flange. Be sure the bead<br />
still on the rim is in the rim well and insert the tire irons<br />
under the opposite side of the bead. Work the rim slowly<br />
out of the tire by taking small bites alternately using both<br />
tire irons.<br />
Never use petroleum-based lubricant. Only use<br />
vegetable-based lubricant.<br />
Keep a firm grip on the tire irons, as they may<br />
spring back.<br />
Keep fingers clear of pinch points.<br />
