Emma Manhart
Behind the Designs
Emma Manhart is Nelson’s own colourful
fashion designer and her unique boutique on
Hardy St is now a cornerstone of the Nelson
fashion scene.
Women who wear Emma Manhart are drawn
to her rich use of colour and print, her well
tailored cut and the sense of fun and surprise
inherent in her garments. “For me the
excitement is in encouraging a woman to
try something she might not automatically
wear. My clothes help women to celebrate the
exuberant part of themselves that they may
have forgotten”
Menswear is next in Emma’s plan.
Inspirations:
• Andre Courreges, the futuristic French
designer (also an engineer)
• Christian Lacroix for his riotous use of colour
• Vivienne Westwood for her reinvented
tailoring
The Business ethos:
Emma Manhart designs and manufactures
in Nelson and sources locally made materials
wherever possible including NZ wool, and
works to minimise her carbon footprint. “For
me the pleasure is in having my business
where I choose to live. I believe that fantastic
fashion can be made anywhere in the world
because inspiration can and should come from
everywhere in the world”

Event Audio
Event Audio is a Nelson owned and operated
company providing specialist audio services
and equipment to the Top of the South
region. This includes corporate presentations
and private functions, right through to large
concerts and festivals.
The company was set up to fill the growing
demand for professional sound systems and to
offer quality “plug and play” portable systems.
We realised traditional PA systems were overly
complicated and advances in technology mean
that modern systems now incorporate many
audio processes into a single unit. Not only is
this timesaving, but it allows clients to operate
basic equipment themselves and still obtain
professional results.
Event Audio cover all aspects of audio
presentations and can recommend a solution
with the right equipment and experienced
technicians. This includes modern LED stage
lighting facilities too. We also provide audio
installation packages for small through to
large venues.
