What you can do • You can trade stock Options and index Options. • You can buy Calls and Puts to open. • You can write covered Calls (that is, write Calls over shares you already own). • You can use a combination of these trades to create more advanced strategies, such as long strangles and straddles. What you can’t do • You cannot trade debt Options, foreign currency Options or flexibly structured Options. • You cannot write Puts to open. • You cannot write uncovered (naked) Calls to open. • You cannot use strategies involving written puts and uncovered calls, such as bull spreads and bear spreads. Trading online When you open an international securities trading account with CommSec, you will be issued with a user ID and password which you can use to login to the international trading web site at www.netxselect.com Access to the site is free, including delayed stock quotes (delayed up to 20 minutes). When you register, you will receive 100 quote credits that you can use to view live stock quotes. Each real-time quote costs one credit point. You will receive another 100 credits for every international equities or Options trade you place. Call the international desk on 1300 361 170 for more information.
