MS PROGRAM<br />

(2 years degree program)<br />

The master <strong>of</strong> sciences in chemistry program is designed mainly <strong>for</strong> individuals with a<br />

bachelor’s degree in chemistry who wish to advance their careers in the local chemical/<br />

pharmaceutical industries, educational institute and various research institutes such as<br />

PINSTECH and PCSIR etc.<br />

Learning OBJECTIVES<br />

• To produce graduates who can chase the pr<strong>of</strong>ession to the highest academic<br />

standards.<br />

• To create high level pr<strong>of</strong>essionals in the field <strong>of</strong> chemistry who can serve in sectors<br />

<strong>of</strong> the national economy such as agriculture, industry, education and health.<br />

• To turn out graduates who can make significant contribution to the social, political<br />

and economic lives <strong>of</strong> the people <strong>of</strong> this country.<br />

• To present eminant programs <strong>of</strong> study those are academically motivating and<br />

<strong>of</strong>fer a solid basis <strong>for</strong> exhilarating and rewarding careers.<br />

Outcomes <strong>of</strong> this EDUCATION<br />

• Students ought to expand their pr<strong>of</strong>essional basics through activities such as teach<br />

ing, internships and research activities.<br />

• Students should be capable <strong>of</strong> exchanging scientific results in writing in oral<br />

presentation.<br />

• Students must acquire the basic knowledge required to carry out independent<br />

chemical research.<br />

• Students should be expert in their specialized area <strong>of</strong> chemistry and successfully<br />

complete an advance research project.<br />

Scheme <strong>of</strong> STUDIES<br />

Semester 1<br />

3 courses <strong>of</strong> 3 credit hours each (according to specialization opted)<br />

1 practical*/course <strong>of</strong> 3 credit hour<br />

Semester 2<br />

3 courses <strong>of</strong> 3 credit hours each (according to specialization opted)<br />

1 practical*/course <strong>of</strong> 3 credit hour<br />

Eligibility CRITERIA<br />

• 16 years <strong>of</strong> education (B.S or<br />

M.sc in relevant fields) or<br />

equivalent.<br />

• The candidates must have<br />

obtained 2.5/4.00 CGPA in<br />

semester system or 50% marks<br />

in annual system.<br />

• Qualifying GAT general (50%<br />

qualifying marks) is required to<br />

apply <strong>for</strong> admission.<br />

• Entry test (50% qualifying marks)<br />

and interview organized by<br />

university is mandatory <strong>for</strong><br />

admission.<br />

• All other requirements as per<br />

university policy (Please see<br />

<strong>University</strong> admission criteria <strong>for</strong><br />

MS).<br />
