Orientation Programme at JSSMC
JSS Medical College Medical Education Unit had organized
Orientation Programme for its Post Graduate students of
the 2012-13 batch and several faculty delivered lectures and
oriented them towards relevant topics in the curriculum.
Center for Continuous Learning for
Professional Excellence (CCLPE)
Established
JSS University in order to encourage its faculty achieve
professional excellence and continuous learning has
established the CCLPE. As an initiative towards this conduced
the first session of TOT (Training of Trainers) programme for
the teaching faculty of its constituent colleges on 30th March
2012.The programme was organized in the Committee Hall at
JSS Dental College, Mysore.

and Post Graduate students attended the guest lectures and
participated in e-poster presentation.
Respected Dr. B. Nandlal, Principal, JSS Dental College,
was the Chief Guest for the event. Dr. Sendil, Indian Dental
Association President, Mr. J.S. Venu, Oral Care Consultant,
Colgate Palmolive, and Dr Nithin Indian Dental Association
Secretary were among the dignitaries present. Dr. Anil
Kumar Gujjari, Vice Principal, JSSDC&H, presided over the
programme.
Subsequent to the success of the first training programme
a second session of TOT progamme for the teachers of
constituent colleges of JSS University was held on 6th July
2012. The target faculty were Associate Professors and
Dr. Sendil, President, IDA, inaugurating the programme
above who were examiners and guides. It was held in Medical
Education Unit of JSS Medical College.
The enthusiastic participation by the faculty was much
appreciated and gave the organizers the much needed spirit to
organize many more such programmes in the future.
Future Dental Professionals Programme at
JSSDC&H
The Department of Periodontology, JSS Dental College and
Hospital, constituent of JSS University in collaboration
with Indian Dental Association-Colgate, conducted first
module of ‘Colgate-Indian Dental Association Future Dental
Professionals Programme’ on 17th February 2012.
The programme was coordinated by Mr. Guruprasad of
Colgate Palmolive, Dr. Sheela Kumar and Dr.Vidya Priya
Darshini, Department of Periodontology, JSS Dental
College and Hospital. The schedule of events included guest

Dentistry’ by Dr. Anil Kumar Gujjari, Vice Principal, Head
of Dept, Dept. of Prosthodontics, ‘Mechanical Plaque
Control, Tooth Brush Lecture’ by Dr Sheela Kumar Gujjari,
Professor, Dept of Periodontology, ‘Oral- systemic Link’ by Dr.
Nagabhushan, Reader, Dept of Oral Medicine and Radiology,
‘Advances in Management of Dentinal hypersensitivity’ by
Dr Paras Mull, Reader, Dept. of Conservative Dentistry, and
‘Practice Management’ by Dr. Veerendra Kumar, HoD, Dept of
Periodontology.
The programme was a grand success with the combined
efforts of the Colgate Indian Dental Association, teaching
and non-teaching Staff and Students delegates of JSS Dental
College.
Workshop on Medical Safety at JSSCP
Mysore
One day workshop on ‘Medication Safety – Industry and
Regulatory Perspective’ was organized by Pharmacy
Practice Department on January 30, 2012 for the benefit
of M. Pharm (Pharmacy Practice, Clinical Practice and
Research, Regulatory Affairs and Pharmacology) and
Pharm D students. Dr. John Talbot, Senior Lecturer in
Pharmacovigilance at the University of Hertfordshire, United
Kingdom and Mr. Anand Harugeri, Patient Safety Manager,
Astra Zeneca, India were the resource persons for the event.
