<strong>GippsAero</strong> <strong>Announces</strong> <strong>EASA</strong> <strong>Certification</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Aspen</strong> <strong>EFD1000</strong> <strong>in</strong> GA8 Airvans<br />
Morwell, Australia, February 7, 2013: <strong>GippsAero</strong>, the aircraft manufactur<strong>in</strong>g arm <strong>of</strong> Mah<strong>in</strong>dra Aerospace,<br />
announced this week that they received European Aviation Safety Agency (<strong>EASA</strong>) certification for the<br />
<strong>in</strong>stallation <strong>of</strong> a s<strong>in</strong>gle <strong>Aspen</strong> <strong>EFD1000</strong> PFD system <strong>in</strong>to the GA8 and GA8-TC 320 Airvan aircraft.<br />
The <strong>Aspen</strong> <strong>EFD1000</strong> PFD comes with s<strong>of</strong>tware version 2.X unit and allows for <strong>in</strong>tegration with GPS and<br />
navigation sources such as the Garm<strong>in</strong> Touch Navigators GTN 750 and GTN 650.<br />
For IFR aircraft a co-requisite <strong>of</strong> this <strong>in</strong>stallation is the requirement for a standby attitude <strong>in</strong>dicator.<br />
<strong>GippsAero</strong> <strong>in</strong>stalls the Mid Cont<strong>in</strong>ent 4300-411 electric attitude <strong>in</strong>dicator with battery back up.<br />
The <strong>Aspen</strong> EFD has proven very popular with operators <strong>in</strong> most regions with most aircraft be<strong>in</strong>g delivered<br />
today featur<strong>in</strong>g the electronic flight <strong>in</strong>strument system (EFIS). The <strong>Aspen</strong> <strong>EFD1000</strong> was the first EFIS to<br />
be fitted to the GA8 and allows for the retention <strong>of</strong> the standby airspeed <strong>in</strong>dicator & altimeter <strong>in</strong> the same<br />
location as used <strong>in</strong> the traditional “six pack”.<br />
In anticipation <strong>of</strong> early orders, <strong>GippsAero</strong> has one aircraft with the <strong>Aspen</strong> EFD 1000 Pro <strong>in</strong>stallation already<br />
positioned at Cranfield <strong>in</strong> United K<strong>in</strong>gdom, available for demonstrations. For demos, <strong>in</strong>terested parties can<br />
