67. Online Police Reporting The Police portal offers a number of services to <strong>the</strong> public. It allows citizens to submit General Public<br />

reports on crimes and incidents to <strong>the</strong> Malta Police Force. The reports are reviewed by<br />
Police personnel and an initial confirmation will be provided within three working days to<br />
<strong>the</strong> person providing <strong>the</strong> report.<br />
The website states <strong>the</strong> nature of crimes and incidents that may be reported as well as <strong>the</strong><br />
limits on monetary value of <strong>the</strong> crime or incident that may be made online. If <strong>the</strong> monetary<br />
amount exceeds <strong>the</strong> limit which is stated on <strong>the</strong> website, <strong>the</strong> person is required to make a<br />
report at <strong>the</strong> nearest police station.<br />
Citizens may also submit information about non-urgent criminal activities or any o<strong>the</strong>r<br />
public safety concerns. If <strong>the</strong> person filing <strong>the</strong> report feels that <strong>the</strong> criminal activity is<br />
urgent, <strong>the</strong> website provides an emergency number whereby <strong>the</strong> Police may be contacted.<br />
The information reported is treated in a confidential manner.<br />
68. Sentenzi Online The Ministry for Justice and Home Affairs (MJHA) provides a number of law related services General Public<br />
to citizens. A collection of <strong>the</strong> most important judgments since 1944 is available.<br />
69. Judiciary of Malta The Judiciary portal provides citizens with information about <strong>the</strong> Judiciary, Judges and General Public<br />
Magistrates and about <strong>the</strong> courts <strong>the</strong>y sit in. The portal also provides <strong>the</strong> latest news from<br />
<strong>the</strong> Courts of Justice.<br />
70. Freedom of Information The Freedom of Information (FOI) Act (Cap. 496) gives <strong>the</strong> general public a right to access<br />
documents held by public authorities, including all ministries and departments, and<br />
thus increases transparency and accountability. A request for accessing a document or<br />
information under <strong>the</strong> FOI Act can be submitted via <strong>the</strong> e-ID through this portal.<br />
