8. S~CTION 2 - ORGANIZAT IOi-i 2.1 The <strong>Club</strong> is responsible for insuring reasonable safety fo~ contestants, wo~k0rs.and spectato~s. The Event Chairman shall provide adequate fi~e extinguishe~s (at least one dry chemical type), and a means of delineating thecoul'se area to keep out spectators and non-competing cars. In addition. an event may be stopped at any time by the Event Chairman in the interests of safety. 2.2 Every attempt shall be made to block off the entire cou~se, providing only one entrance and one exit for the single use of competitors. 2.3 Events shall be run ~by classes", the order of classes being the same for each set of runs. 2.4 A driver may run out of order only with the prior permission of the Event Chairman. 2.5 Any contestant registering after the first set of timed runs may not compete for trophies or championship points. 2.6 Sufficient judges shall be provided to observe the entire cou~se. ,.7 <strong>Car</strong>s shall run one at a time on any given course. 2.8 All Contestants and workers shall sign an insuranoe release at each event.
S~CTION 3 - COURSES 3.1 The course shall be clearly mar;ed. As a minimum, all turns shall be defined by course markers, preferably plystic cones (pylons). 3.2 There shall be a clearly dravm map of the course available to all contestants at nll times during an event. 3.3 Courses shall be laid out so that all competing cars can negotiate them in the same manner. 3.4 The width of "gates" (pylons side by side between which cars must pass) shall be a minimum of eight feet. 3.5 The location of all~pylons shall be marked on the ground so that they can be replaced in their exact locations if displaced. 3.6 Displaced pylons must be replaced prior to the next competitor!& run. 3.7 No start (or finish) shall be used wherein the driver is not in the car with his seatbelt fastened securely. 3.8 Flying finishes shall not be used unless there is sufficient room for any competing car to stop with complete safety (without a "panic" stop). ~\ 3.9 No course layout shall intentionally require the use~reverse gear the exception being the loss of all forward gears. 9 •
