John Macdonald recently jo<strong>in</strong>ed The Consumers’ Water Heater Income Fund as President & CEO.<br />
Mr. Macdonald is the former President and CEO of Hydro One Telecom where he grew the company from a<br />
concept to the largest utility-based telecom company <strong>in</strong> Canada. Prior to Hydro, John was President of ShareTel<br />
and held Senior Market<strong>in</strong>g positions at AT&T Canada and Nortel.<br />
John is a Registered Professional Eng<strong>in</strong>eer with a B.A.Sc. <strong>in</strong> Electrical Eng<strong>in</strong>eer<strong>in</strong>g from the University of<br />
Toronto.<br />
The Consumers’ Water Heater Income Fund (TSX:CWI.UN) is engaged <strong>in</strong> the water heater rental bus<strong>in</strong>ess with<br />
over 1.3 million natural gas-fired water heaters, rented primarily to residential customers <strong>in</strong> Ontario. The Fund has<br />
about 50% of Ontario’s residential market with most of its bus<strong>in</strong>ess <strong>in</strong> the Greater Toronto Area. The Fund’s<br />
objective is to generate a stable and grow<strong>in</strong>g cash flow stream, which will <strong>in</strong> turn be reflected <strong>in</strong> stable and<br />
grow<strong>in</strong>g unit holder cash distributions.<br />

John Vivash has over fifty years experience <strong>in</strong> the Canadian securities and <strong>in</strong>vestment <strong>in</strong>dustries, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g<br />
positions as President & CEO of Manulife Securities International Inc; President, CEO, and Chairman of CIBC<br />
Securities Inc., and President & CEO of Fidelity Investments Canada Limited.<br />
Mr. Vivash is currently a Director of State Street Trust Company Canada and Institute for Intellectual Capital<br />
Research, and chairs the Governance Committees at all of : Draxis Health Inc., Sierra Systems Group, and<br />
Cangene Corporation.<br />

He began his career at Ross, Knowles & Co. <strong>in</strong> adm<strong>in</strong>istration and trad<strong>in</strong>g, and progressed through more<br />
responsible positions <strong>in</strong> market<strong>in</strong>g and product management at T.A. Richardson and Co. and Midland Doherty,<br />
and ga<strong>in</strong>ed particular expertise <strong>in</strong> options market<strong>in</strong>g and trad<strong>in</strong>g. He has been a guest lecturer at the Bus<strong>in</strong>ess<br />
Schools of University of Alberta, University of Toronto, and University of Western Ontario, and taught more than<br />
500 sem<strong>in</strong>ars <strong>in</strong> various <strong>in</strong>vestment subjects <strong>in</strong> Canada, USA, and Europe.<br />
John has also served the Canadian bus<strong>in</strong>ess community as a member of the Board of Governors of the<br />
Investment Funds Institute of Canada, and on the Ontario Securities Commission Work<strong>in</strong>g Committee to<br />
recommend changes to the Canadian Mutual Fund Industry. He has also been a Director for the Sunnybrook<br />
Hospital Foundation and the University of Toronto, Faculty of Medic<strong>in</strong>e Dean’s Advisory Group.
