specializ<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> f<strong>in</strong>ance and an MA <strong>in</strong> International Studies from the Lauder Institute. He was a Thouron Fellow at<br />

Wharton. Bruce worked <strong>in</strong> product management at Procter and Gamble <strong>in</strong> Geneva Switzerland prior to jo<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g<br />

McK<strong>in</strong>sey <strong>in</strong> 1987.<br />

Nigel Stokes guides DataMirror's strategic vision and direction. Under Nigel's leadership, DataMirror was named<br />

to the Deloitte & Touche Fast 500, and he won Emerg<strong>in</strong>g Entrepreneur of the year from Ernst & Young. Nigel has<br />

25 years of IT experience with a variety of companies and <strong>in</strong>dustries.<br />

Nigel co-founded DataMirror <strong>in</strong> 1993 to produce Intelligent Data Replication software for enterprise applications.<br />

He is an early <strong>in</strong>novator <strong>in</strong> Data-Warehous<strong>in</strong>g, ETL and Data Replication. He has designed and architected ETL,<br />

Data Replication and Data Warehous<strong>in</strong>g products for <strong>in</strong>dustry, s<strong>in</strong>ce 1990. As a thought leader <strong>in</strong> the software<br />

market, he def<strong>in</strong>ed <strong>in</strong>novative concepts around Active Data Warehous<strong>in</strong>g, Data Transformation and Intelligent<br />

Data Replication. Under his direction, DataMirror went public <strong>in</strong> 1996 (TSX: DMC), completed strategic<br />

acquisitions, and <strong>in</strong> 1998 was the seed <strong>in</strong>vestor <strong>in</strong> the Po<strong>in</strong>tBase Java database.<br />

Nigel was formerly Co-Founder and President of Nidak, Manag<strong>in</strong>g Director of SHL Systemhouse, and a Pr<strong>in</strong>cipal<br />

at Woods Gordon (now Ernst & Young). Nidak, which was purchased by SHL Systemhouse, specialized <strong>in</strong> the<br />

development of custom bus<strong>in</strong>ess applications, relational databases and data warehouses for corporate clients.<br />

Nidak ranked as the eleventh fastest grow<strong>in</strong>g company <strong>in</strong> Canada and won two Canada Awards for Bus<strong>in</strong>ess<br />

Excellence.<br />

As an Executive and Consultant, he has delivered sophisticated software projects for f<strong>in</strong>ancial <strong>in</strong>stitutions,<br />

manufactur<strong>in</strong>g, retail, healthcare and other <strong>in</strong>dustries.<br />

Nigel holds an M.B.A. from the University of Toronto, an M.A.Sc., System Design Eng<strong>in</strong>eer<strong>in</strong>g from Waterloo<br />

University, and a B.Sc. from Queen’s University, and is a Certified Management Consultant (CMC).<br />

Mark Usher is a Partner <strong>in</strong> Well<strong>in</strong>gton F<strong>in</strong>ancial LP, a Toronto based, privately-held, bridge f<strong>in</strong>ance & venture debt<br />

fund.<br />

Prior to jo<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g Well<strong>in</strong>gton F<strong>in</strong>ancial <strong>in</strong> mid-2006 Mr. Usher ga<strong>in</strong>ed 16 years of f<strong>in</strong>ance experience, primarily as<br />

Royal Bank’s Vice-President responsible for Knowledge Based Industries practice for Ontario.<br />

Mark's career began <strong>in</strong> 1988 at Royal Bank. He jo<strong>in</strong>ed RBC's Commercial Bank<strong>in</strong>g Group <strong>in</strong> 1993, where his<br />

roles <strong>in</strong>cluded market<strong>in</strong>g and strategy <strong>in</strong> the Bank’s head office, and as a Senior Account Manager. Mark was<br />

recruited by Cisco Systems <strong>in</strong> 2000 to jo<strong>in</strong> the Cisco Capital structured f<strong>in</strong>ance team <strong>in</strong> Toronto, where he<br />

f<strong>in</strong>anced the sales of Cisco equipment and services to customers <strong>in</strong> Canada and the US Eastern Seaboard us<strong>in</strong>g<br />

a comb<strong>in</strong>ation of debt and equity structures. Mark returned to Royal Bank <strong>in</strong> 2001 to lead the bank’s Information<br />

Technology Bank<strong>in</strong>g team <strong>in</strong> the Greater Toronto Area.<br />

Mark holds an MBA from Queen’s University School of Bus<strong>in</strong>ess, and is a Director of York Technology<br />

Association and the Toronto Venture Group.
