would link the caller to the various services.
Should an individual call in and is enquiring about information in the area of Mental Health/Mental Illness regarding services for Mental Health , CW CCAC can
connect/link the client or family to a CMHA Certified Information and Referral Specialist at (905) 451-2123. There is always a live person to take these calls but from time
to time all lines may be busy. There is the ability to leave a message and a call back will happen within the business day.
CMHA/Peel Certified Information and Referral Specialist are trained to work with individuals whom may be encountering a situation or a series of problems that feel
overwhelming and out of control; or the individual has a mental illness and are overwhelmed in coping with there activities of daily living; or the individual expresses an
inability to see options, choices that may be helpful. CW CCAC may link the client through a warm transfer to CMHA/Peel Resource Center to de-escalate the individual
and then assist the individual in putting a safety plan in place.
When an individual is in acute distress, CMHA/Peel will involve the services of Peel Mobile Crisis or 911. Similar practice is in place for CW CCAC.
With client’s/ family verbal consent, CMHA/Peel Certified Information and Referral Specialist will do a follow up call back to inform a CW CCAC Case Manager as to what
information was provided and/or what referrals were made
