The Warrandyte Bloods and
Heidelberg B teams were the lucky
under 9’s given the job of running
the ice off the field at Heidelberg
Park at 8.45am Sunday. While
the parents wrapped their frozen
fingers around a cup of coffee,
the boys, coach and assistant
coach were out there in the fog
somewhere playing a hardy match
of footy! We had 2 captains for day
in Oscar Bennett and Max Morley
who lived up to their role with
strong performances from both,
and Oscar winning the opposition
player of the match award.
The Bloods followed the coach’s
instructions to keep running to
stay warm and as a result were in
the right place and the right time
and dominated the play. Neils set
up some great goal opportunities
for the forwards, while Calum got
plenty of runs out of the back line
and sent the ball to our end of the
field. Hayden took some solid marks
and Tom Heffernan and Campbell
put in great performances with
long and accurate kicks to their
team mates.

Robbie (with 4 for the match),
Thomas (1) and Max Morley (1).
Our newest recruit, playing his
first match for the Bloods, is Jasper
Kelly. He put in a solid effort in the
half back flank, as did Max Bell and
Jaxson.
Adam kept his legs moving trailing
an opposition player and striving
for the coach’s instructions of 3
touches per quarter. There was
much more talking amongst the
players as they communicated
their positions to each other and
resulted in the ball landing in
Bloods hand more often than not.
Congratulations to Thomas Curnow
who was the well deserved winner
of our player of the match medal
along with a free haircut!
A great confidence boosting match
for our boys and by the time the
final siren went, the sun was shining
brightly on the field and they were
wearing their red fingers with pride!

before Appleby popped up
to kick a goal. Third Quarter
Warrandyte 8.6.54 to Beverley
Hills 3.1.19
Beverley Hills got off to a good
start kicking the first 2 goals
for the quarter. But the half
backline stood up and Ternes,
Bilos and Paul got on top and
creating a wall. Bowers was
kicking the ball long as Rowarth
lead up the ground to mark,
switched the across the ground
to a hard running Bilos who
chipped to Hewitt who kicked
our first goal of the quarter.
Robertson followed this up
with 2 great running team
goals before Appleby finished
of the game with his sixth. Final
