On April 7, the Saint Louis Crisis Nursery hosted its’ first
National Conference featuring International Best Selling
Author, Dave Pelzer (A Child Called It; The Lost Boy; A
Man Named Dave; Help Yourself). In honor of April’s Child
Abuse Prevention Month, the Crisis Nursery invited Dave
Pelzer to share his triumph over abuse, neglect and
surviving in the foster care system. The Crisis Nursery
welcomed more than 500 Social Workers, Foster Parents,
CASA Volunteers, and others to hear from a man whose
story has inspired so many.
Co-Chairs, Noah and Pam Griggs, Honorary Chair, Vickie Newton,
Emcee, John Carney and Co-Chairs, Jim and Jodi Allen.
Heidi and Bruce Sowatsky.
Rev. Jerry Paul; Advisory Board Chair,
Bill Siedhoff and Dave Pelzer.
Helping Kids in Crisis for 20 Years
The Saint Louis Crisis Nursery continues to maintain a cost-effective high quality program. Providing a safe haven to more than 4,000
children, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year at four separate facilities takes money and support! We are proud to continue our goal of
raising the dollars needed so no child will be turned away due to lack of funding. Funds invested in the Saint Louis Crisis Nursery
come from generous individuals, foundations and corporations. Funds are also raised through special events, such as our Celebrity
Waitress & Waiters Night, Razzle Dazzle Ball, and the Charity Golf Classic.
