RESIDENT DISCOUNTS 

Purchase a City of Wentzville Resident Card and 

you will receive a reduced daily admission fee 

for entrance into the recreation facility and 

pool. The Resident Photo ID card fee is $5. At 

the time of purchase, the resident will receive a 

one time free entry into the facilities. Please 

bring proof of residency such as; personal 

property tax receipt, or City water/sewer bill. 

The Resident Card is valid for two years.

WE P.L.A.Y SCHOLARSHIP 

WENTZVILLE RESIDENTS ONLY 

WE P.L.A.Y Scholarship program is an acronym 

for Wentzville Providing Leisure Assistance for 

Youth. This program is designed to provide youth 

access to the recreation and leisure activities of 

their choice, regardless of their ability to pay. 

Who is eligible? 

City of Wentzville residents who are experiencing 

financial difficulty or who are in a unique, 

hardship situation may apply. 

How does the program work? 

Children residing within the City limits and qualify 

through the established guidelines of free lunch 

program utilized by the Wentzville School District 

are eligible to apply. Children who do not receive 

the reduced or free lunch program may still 

qualify and are encouraged to apply if assistance 

is needed. Children ages 17 and under are 

eligible to receive one program scholarship per 

brochure with a maximum of three per year.

VOLUNTEER PROGRAM 

Get involved in your community AND meet lots 

of new people! The volunteer program currently 

consists of individuals who have donated 

thousands of hours of their time to help improve 

the quality of the programs offered at the Parks 

and Recreation Department. Volunteers are 

asked to commit a minimum of 10 hours of 

service per year. “Park Bucks” are issued for 

time which can be used to register for any 

program where pre-registration is required, 

annual memberships, or volunteers are welcome 

to donate their park bucks to a child who could 

use them. In addition, each volunteer will receive 

a volunteer staff shirt. Volunteers work a wide 

range of events including the Easter Egg Hunt, 

Halloween Happenings, July 4 th Celebration, 

Summer Concert Series, Movie in the Park, 

Holiday Night Lights, Senior Dinner & Dances and 

other programs! For additional information

PARKS 

Friends of the Wentzville parks is a 501(c)3, nonprofit 

organization. The mission of Friends of the 

Wentzville Parks is to help bring about a world 

class parks and recreation department to the City 

of Wentzville. The organization is determined to 

raise both awareness and money for our parks.

REFUND POLICY 

Refund requests may be made over the phone, e-mail (parkinfo@wentzvillemo.org), or in 

person Monday-Friday from 8:00am–5:00pm. Refunds will be granted for the following cases: 

1. A full refund will be made if a program is cancelled, except online registrations where an 

online processing fee occurs. 

2. If the participant withdraws from the program (EXCLUDING ADULT LEAGUES) before the first 

class, the department must receive a request and then a full refund will be given, less a $10 

administrative fee. 

3. If the participant withdraws from the program after the first class, the department requires a 

request and then a pro-rated refund will be given, less a $10 administrative fee. 

4. If the participant becomes ill or injured and must withdraw from the program, a doctor’s 

written excuse is required and a refund will be issued on a pro-rated basis, less a $10 

administrative fee. 

5. If the participant moves out of the area, a refund will be issued on a pro-rated basis, less a 

$10 administrative fee. 

6. All youth league refunds will be less the cost of uniforms. 

7. No refunds will be issued after the program is half over. 

8. No refunds will be issued for adult leagues after the registration deadline. 

9. There will be an administrative fee assessed for all rental cancellations. 


Progress Park Membership 

Wentzville Parks and Recreation is making a unique offer to celebrate 

2013! Every Progress Park complex or recreation membership purchased or 

renewed throughout the year will receive an extra month free! 

13 months for the price of 12. A healthy, happy community is our goal. 

The weight room is equipped with cardiovascular equipment, and 

strength training equipment including dumbbells and free weights. 

Amenities also include:

Outdoor 50 meter swimming pool with a 121’ spiral slide,

The gymnasium is available for rent before and after hours. Reservation must be made 30 days in 

advance.

$50 for two hours minimum. Each additional hour is $25. 

$500 per day for organized tournament or event during operating hours. 

Pavilion 

Picnic shelters may be reserved by groups or individuals. Pavilions are available for full day rentals 

(8am-10pm) at Progress Park, Fireman’s Park and Rotary Park.

Progress park center rental 

Progress Park Center is an ideal place for wedding receptions, family reunions, parties, business and 

social meetings, baby showers, birthdays, all special events. The center includes a full kitchen, walk-in 

cooler, and a 43’ x 25’ wood dance floor. Seating can be accommodated for up to 225 people. We 

supply you with round tables and chairs, and cleaning service. 

Meeting rentals are available Monday through Thursday from 8:30am-5:00pm and Sundays noon- 

6:00pm. 

Reservations can be made up to one year in advance.

Come join the F.R.O.G.S (Friendly, Reliable, Outstanding, Genuine, Summer 

Fun) at Camp Wentzville this summer! This fun-filled day camp is designed for 

children ages 6-12. Camp meets from 9am-4pm, Monday-Friday. Campers will 

swim almost daily and participate in a wide variety of other activities including, 

but not limited to games, arts & crafts, field trips, cooking and science activities, 

and much more. Every day is structured with fun, safe and exciting lesson plans! 

Many campers have so much fun they don’t want the day to end. Register 

early…this program will fill fast. In order to register you must present a birth 

certificate at registration to verify age.

Hangin’ Out at Progress Park has become a fun and safe place for 

kids to spend some time with friends. Dance the night away, 

listening to some of your favorite songs under the supervision of 

Wentzville’s finest police officers. Register at the front door and 

remember money for refreshments. We require everyone to stay 

the entire time unless signed out by an adult. Put on your dancing 

shoes and bring your friends for a fun night at Progress Park.

10TH ANNUAL MISSION CLEAN STREAM 

Ages: 6+ 

We are teaming up with GM this year for our 10 th anniversary 

celebration and Earth Day related festivities. Join hundreds of 

volunteers, Greenway Network, Inc. and other cities in this major 

clean up to help restore the Peruque and Dry Branch Creeks. 

These streams are important to the health of our community and 

support a variety of wildlife and land uses from agriculture to 

recreation and industry. Individuals, families and community 

groups are invited to participate. Meet at General Motors 

Assembly plant where you will team up and be directed to a clean 

-up site. (Volunteers must provide transportation to clean-up 

sites.) After the clean-up return to GM site for lunch and 

festivities. Bring your water bottle and gloves if you have them! 

Families and the public are welcome to attend the festival.

It is never too early to get a “Jump Start” on basketball. Come to Progress Park gymnasium and 

learn the basics of basketball through interactive instruction and games. The “Jump Start” program 

is a four week instructional program that will cover basketball skills using modified equipment for 3- 

5 year olds. Each child will work one-on-one with their parent/guardian in performing various drills , 

relays, and games related to basketball. The program will cover areas such as, shooting, passing, 

dribbling, defense, and rebounding. Each child will receive a t-shirt, miniature basketball and water 

bottle.

Wentzville Parks and Recreation is offering an instructional basketball league for beginners. Children 

will learn the basic skills and have fun while participating in games. There will be no practices, and 

games will be officiated. The 6-7 year olds will play on 8 foot rims, and the 8-10 year olds will play 

on the 9 foot rims. This is a six week program that will meet on Monday nights. Due to space 

limitations this program fills up fast, so register early! Volunteer coaches are needed! Please

league will be governed by USA Volleyball and house rules. Each team will play a minimum of six 

matches. Register as a team, or register individually. Shirts will be provided for each participant. 

First place medals will be awarded to first place team. Please visit our website

olds. Children will be introduced to the basic skills of soccer while playing games. Each child will

teams for 4 on 4 instructional games in 45-minute increments. Game times will vary each week. All 

games will be on Saturdays, with possible makeup games added at the end of the season or on

New Horizon Youth Sports League 

Youth Baseball and Softball

The Youth Baseball/Softball leagues are designed for children 

of all abilities. The league has three levels of play depending on 

the skills of the child. Practices begin in March with games 

beginning in April or May depending on the age level. Team 

registration and individual registrations are accepted. Children 

registering individually will be randomly placed on draft teams. 

A copy of the child’s birth certificate is required at the time of 

registration. 

Volunteer coaches are needed!!! Any individual who 

coaches a Wentzville Parks & Recreation youth sports team 

must pass a criminal background check.

status, please contact the Parks and Recreation office at

full team. Rosters must have 13 players and no more than 15 

players. Team registrations will not be accepted after 

February 10. 

Softball pitching clinic

This 45 minute clinic covers the 

basics of softball pitching for all 

youths. The clinic is designed for a 

child/parent or child/coach duo 

and will cover fundamentals such 

as pitching wind-up, footwork, and 

delivery techniques. Each

clinic will be held in the gym and 

we ask everyone to wear their non 

-marking sole tennis shoes. No

spring gets here? The 4th annual Men’s Recreational “Snowball”

into different pools for a round robin tournament. The winners 

of each pool will play a single elimination tournament to 

determine the winner. The tournament will consist of a 

minimum of three games. Fees include a new softball for each 

game, t-shirts for the tournament winners, and one umpire for 

each game. All bats must be USSSA approved. A list of these

$2. Each booklet comes with a treasure map to help you locate the

participate in the parade by making or designing a float. Floats will be judged for 

1 st , 2 nd , and 3 rd place. After the parade join us for the annual celebration – details to

application. Note: Individuals participating in the parade may not throw 

items from a car or a float. Individuals walking next to a car or float may

times. Don’t forget to bring a basket to put your treats in! After the hunting ends, each dog will 

receive a “doggie bag” to take home with them and we will draw for door prizes. Dogs and their 

owners may roam around in the park after the event and take advantage of our trail, which is a 

little over 1-mile in length and also loops around the lake.

Want to have fun while earning a little extra cash this summer? If so, then be 

sure to attend Wentzville Parks and Recreation Department’s Job Fair on Thursday, 

March 7, from 2:00-7:00p.m. at Progress Park. Applications will be accepted 

for temporary summer positions for lifeguards, concessionaires, day camp 

counselors, and umpires. Applicants should be prepared to be interviewed at 

that time, highly motivated, and age 16 or older by March 6, 2013. Starting pay 

varies depending on position and experience. 

Applications can be filled out in advance by downloading the form from the 

City’s Web site at www.wentzvillemo.org/employment-opportunities.aspx, or applications 

will be available to complete at the job fair. No advance appointments 

will be provided.
