PETER DENIS LINES SERVICE OF CELEBRATION

to the theatre and services in connection with his
membership of the Worshipful company of Engineers.
Peter and Margaret were invited to two Buckingham
Palace garden parties and carol concerts in the Tower of
London. After being awarded the Freedom of the City of
London Peter often threatened to use his rights to herd
sheep across London Bridge.
Steve
Pete fell in love with cycling again and regularly went
on 30 mile bike rides, all carefully logged on his
computer. He recently enjoyed planning the route and
taking part in a fund raising cycle ride for Hatfield
Heath Football Club, on which, he was joined by his
Grandson Harry.
One of the happiest years of his life was 2012. Not only
did He and Margaret celebrate their Golden Wedding
but were also (PI lucky enough to get tickets for many
events at the Olympics including events like
Synchronised Swimming.
Peter had three pet hates: Gossip, McDonalds and
Football in that order!
James
Over the past couple of years I have discovered a
different side of Peter. Working closely as fellow
Trustees of the Harlow Playhouse Charitable Trust his
many skills and talents including wisdom, patience,
support and enthusiasm seemed boundless. To me
personally he was a constant support and trusted
confidante, his encouragement to trust in my own
abilities and instincts and to keep fighting for what we,
as a Trust, think is the best way forward is something
that I currently find it impossible to believe can be replaced.
But the work does and will go on and we will seek to honour
his memory by continuing in the pursuit of our goals.

One of the last performances to benefit from a Peter
Lines lighting design was by Harlow Ballet in April this
year, a show in which James made his ballet debut!

Peter loved theatre in all forms but especially Musical
Theatre. Included in Peters notes were comments about
the four Musicals he would like represented here today.
In a piece especially arranged for today by Chris
Redman sit back and enjoy the music of Cabaret, West
Side Story, Annie and The Wizard of Oz.
