The intent of aide support for a student is to promote independence. The role of the aide is based on:<br />

• The specific support needs of the student,<br />

• Methods to be employed to promote independence,<br />

• Natural supports available to the student, and<br />

• Methods to be employed to increase social skills and social inclusion of the student.<br />
