“What is the Status of the RRR Plans and Capital Campaign?”
Our community has provided many ideas and suggestions for the renovation. The parish staff, architect and builder
have been working hard to incorporate these ideas. Thankfully our architect did a great job of listening to our church’s
needs and the community’s ideas to update the plan. We are moving into the final phase before construction and next
month we will have new plans ready for viewing.
The good news is that we are meeting with the Diocesan Review Board in mid-April for final construction and
financing approval. The architectural plans are on track and will be completed for this meeting. The challenging
news is that our project financing is uncertain. The Diocese requires that we have $2.3 million in cash and pledges
by mid-April to start construction in May, 2013. Over 400 families have already pledged or donated $1,150,000 to
this campaign. However, these figures represent less than 20% of the registered families in our parish who have
generously donated 50% of the funds needed for us to move forward. We know that The Community of the Blessed
Sacrament is a generous parish. If you have not already pledged to the Renew Repair Refresh Capital Campaign,
please prayerfully consider what your sacrificial gift will be. Complete a pledge form (in the vestibules, front office
and on line at www.blessedsacramentscotts.org under RRR campaign) and return it to the parish office this Holy
Week. With everyone’s pledge, we will receive approval from the Diocese and construction will start in May. In a
few short months we will be celebrating Christmas Mass in our new church.
