Second Annual High Tea Party Freshly brewed batches of delicious tea and a three-course menu is only a part of the 2nd Annual Blessed Sacrament High Tea event, sponsored by Mary’s Knights, on Sunday, April 21 from 2 to 4pm in the Social Hall. All women of the parish and their guests are invited to enjoy a special menu of delightful tastes, complete with a fashion show in a light springtime ambiance of fine china, background music, flowers and pleasant conversation. Of course, you are invited to don your favorite Easter bonnet—and gloves, if you wish! Tickets go on sale the weekends of April 6/7 & 13/14 $20 per person or $120 for a table of six. Purchase your tickets early, as a limited supply is available. School Dinner - Raffle - Live Auction Mark your calendars for the Blessed Sacrament Preschool/ Kindergarten “Angels Among Us” Dinner, Raffle, Live Auction on Friday, April 26, 6pm. Dinner by Carrabba’s Italian Grill. $30 per person includes dinner, dessert and wine. Stop by the parish or school office to purchase your tickets. If you are a business and want to donate to the auction, contact Kelly Stehly at 480-998-9466. Pick up Honey-Baked Hams In the school office on March 27 from 9am to 1pm. “Tears Speak – But Spirits Soar” This is an ongoing support group for women who have suffered the loss of a child to abortion and wish to experience healing through sharing in a confidential, safe environment. Group meetings will take place on a requested basis. Those interested in meeting are asked to call Church of the Holy Spirit, Tempe at 480-838-7474 – ask for Tears Speak/Patty. Contact will be made as to the next meeting date. Meetings, when held, are at Mount Claret Retreat Center, 4633 N. 54th Street, Phoenix and, generally, held on the second Tuesday of a month, in the evening. Knights of Columbus Scholarships The 2013 Knights of Columbus Scholarship Applications are available in the Parish Office. Scholarships are awarded to Catholic High School and Catholic College Students. Graduating high school seniors may also apply for scholarships to the University of Arizona, ASU and NAU. Details are include in the application package. Over $117,000 has been awarded to date. Scholarships are made possible by Blessed Sacrament parishioners through the generous support of Social Dinners and K of C fundraisers. Scholarship deadline is May 10, 2013. Women’s Club ►Thanks to Women’s Club members who participated in Mary’s Stations of the Cross…..such a beautiful prayer. ►Our April meeting will include a vote for officers for next year…..so be sure and be there to make your voice heard! ►We will be signing up for our end of the year dinner meeting also! ►See you on April 8th….BINGO night! “A Biblical Walk Through the Mass” This is a new five-week study class similar to the Jeff Cavins DVD classes in the past. It is packed with great insight into the scriptural roots and historical basis for the Mass. Presented by Edward Sri, you will learn just how much we are being fed, enriched and blessed in our Mass. Rosary For an End to Abortion On March 29, noon to 1:30pm, join other Catholics to pray for an end to abortion and all threats to innocent human life at the annual Good Friday Rosary at Planned Parenthood, 5771 W. Eugie Ave., Glendale. Bishop Thomas J. Olmsted will lead the faithful in this traditional meditative prayer of humility and love . This is the closing celebration to the local 40 days for Life Prayer effort to end abortion in Phoenix, an ecumenical prayer and awareness effort. A brief program will follow. “Faithful for Life” Fundraiser Please join Bishop Thomas J. Olmsted and the Diocese of Phoenix, in conjunction with the four Catholic pro-life pregnancy centers in Phoenix for the inaugural “Faithful For Life” fundraiser on April 6, 6pm at Founders Hall, Xavier College Prep. Year of Faith Pilgrimage Mark you calendar for October 7-14 and the Official Diocese of Phoenix Pilgrimage to Mexico. Hosted by Bishop Eduardo Nevares, our Year of Faith Journey will focus on Our Lady of Guadalupe, Mother of the New Evangelization.
