The proposed solution is required to continue the delivery of existing inpatient Tier 4 services
whilst enhancing them to support:

The rationalisation of all CAMHS activity onto a single bespoke site;
The improved quality of the physical facility, and to ensure that it is fit for purpose and
meets the needs of patients;
To maintain access to the current school associated to Parkview;
To establish capacity back up to 44 beds, including an emergency bedded area;
To improve patient and staff flows;
To provide improved social spaces (internal and external);
To meet the increase in demand for Tier 4 services, as discussed in Section Error!

To meet the changing profile of young people being admitted to Tier 4 services; and
To maximise the availability of single bedrooms, in line with Commissioner
requirements.
Children & Younger Adolescents
This is the activity currently provided on the Ocean Ward. The brief for this project is to
provide an area in Parkview which, in addition to the above, will deliver:

10 beds; and
3,942 bed days of activity per annum.
Acute Assessment & HDU
Currently provided from the Ashfield Ward at Parkview, a reconfigured Unit is required to
provide:

8 beds, a number of which may act as HDU beds as required; and
2,628 bed days of activity per annum.
Eating Disorders
Currently delivered from Irwin Ward at Parkview, this project sets out to deliver an area
which will provide:

12 beds; and
3,285 bed days of activity per annum.
