<strong>EP</strong> <strong>Register</strong> <strong>data</strong> <strong>in</strong> <strong>ST.36</strong> <strong>compatible</strong> <strong>XML</strong> format<br />

The element applicants conta<strong>in</strong>s 1 or more elements applicant (R.41(2)(c) <strong>EP</strong>C). It<br />

can occur more than once <strong>in</strong> case <strong>of</strong> changes / corrections, mak<strong>in</strong>g use <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

change-gazette-num attribute.<br />

The element applicant conta<strong>in</strong>s follow<strong>in</strong>g elements:<br />

addressbook - <strong>the</strong> id attribute provides <strong>the</strong> <strong>in</strong>ternal<br />

identification <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> applicant as used<br />

<strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>EP</strong>O<br />

nationality - supplied with an empty country<br />

element <strong>in</strong>side, as <strong>the</strong> <strong>EP</strong>O does not<br />

register <strong>the</strong> nationality<br />

residence - idem<br />

designated-states - will be supplied if <strong>the</strong> applicant seeks<br />

protection <strong>in</strong> a subset <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> states<br />

designated <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> application, and<br />

will conta<strong>in</strong> country elements<br />

The element applicant can have <strong>the</strong> follow<strong>in</strong>g attributes:<br />

app-type - always set to "applicant"<br />

designation - this <strong>in</strong>dicates <strong>the</strong> countries <strong>in</strong> which<br />

<strong>the</strong> applicant will acquire patent<br />

protection; values can ei<strong>the</strong>r be "all"<br />

for all countries designated <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

application, or "as-<strong>in</strong>dicated" which<br />

will result <strong>in</strong> a designated-states<br />

element<br />

sequence - <strong>the</strong> sequence number <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

applicant<br />
