Edwardsville Day
set for September 10
EDWARDSVILLE—On
Saturday, September 10,
Edwardsville Day will be
observed from 10 a.m. to 3
p.m. at Galilee United Methodist
Church.
The theme will be “Giving
Back to Children in the
Kingdom.” The event will
include gospel singing, praise
dancing, voter registration, a
parade, food and vendors, as
well as youth and children’s
activities.
The parade will line up at
12:15 p.m. to begin at 1 p.m.
and extend along Route
640. The Northumberland
High School regional softball
championship team will
serve as the grand marshal.
Martha Hicks will serve as
queen of the festivities and
Long will serve as king.
The Northumberland High
School Marching Band,
cheerleaders, motorcycles,
trucks, bicycles, floats, cars,
Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts,
Girl Scouts, fire trucks, and
rescue squads are expected
for the parade, said Long.
Food and beverages will
be available for purchase.
Fees are $5 per vendor
space, $6 for adult parade
entries and $3 for children
