WELCOME TO REATA
Reata Restaurant now offers an expanded wine list. This special presentation has been compiled, over
many months of careful research and relationship building, to specialize in showcasing premium wines that
beautifully complement our Legendary Texas Cuisine.
Reata's wine list is as individual and unique as many of the bottles we feature. We are proud to present a
variety of selections from across the globe, with offerings from vineyards close to home as well as from
different countries. Reata has specifically focused on obtaining wines that are small in production and are
from remote vineyards with limited distribution channels. Many of our wines are considered rare with some
bottles entirely new to the marketplace and offered exclusively through Reata. Like the standards set for
our award-winning cuisine, all of the wine selections at our restaurants must excel in quality, flavor and
overall presentation.
More About Reata's Legendary History and Cuisine...
Reata, Spanish for "rope", is named for the majestic ranch in the 1950's epic movie Giant, starring James
Dean, Rock Hudson and Elizabeth Taylor. Based upon the famous novel by Edna Ferber, this legendary
movie uniquely symbolizes the strength, spirit and excitement of the legendary days of the wide-open west.
Simply put, the first Reata Restaurant started when a hungry west Texas rancher had a hankerin' for some
really great food. Al Micallef, owner of the CF Ranch, took his hunger into his own hands and partnered
with Fort Worth businessman Mike Evans in 1995 and opened the first Reata Restaurant in Alpine, Texas.
From Alpine grew the nationally renowned original Fort Worth location and survivor of one of the most
destructive tornadoes in U.S. history. Our crowning glory, Reata at Sundance, opened in the heart of
downtown Fort Worth in May 2002. It has been our distinct pleasure to serve the wonderful people of Fort
Worth over the past decade and we looked forward to many more great years to come.
