Some of the many immediate benefits are the improvement of one’s language<br />
skills, the knowledge of new learning methods, of new cultures, of new people<br />
and of many other aspects regarding individual growth. This is a so precious<br />
experience not only because affect the academic career of the student, but also<br />
because it allows him/her to acquire professional and language skill that can be<br />
better appreciated in Europe and in the world.<br />
Since the 2001-2002 academic year is effective a Double Degree Agreement<br />
between the Faculty of Arts and Philosophy of the University of Trento and the<br />
Sprach- und Literaturwissenschaften Fakultät of the Technische Universität of<br />
Dresden (Saxony: http://www.tu-dresden.de), Germany. Students at the Faculty<br />
of Arts and Philosophy may take part in this programme only if they are enrolled<br />
in a Two-Year Specialist Degree and if they already have a three-year degree<br />
with the minimum result of 105 out of 110.<br />

CERTIFICATE <strong>OF</strong> EUROPEAN STUDIES (CSE)<br />
The Certificate of European Studies is awarded on completion of a course of<br />
studies on aspects of European integration (economic, political, cultural, etc.)<br />
offered jointly by the Faculties of Sociology, Law, Economics, and Arts and<br />
Philosophy. It is supplementary to the official curricula of those faculties and<br />
must be completed within the statutory period. The course programme is<br />
multidisciplinary in its approach and comprises subjects pertaining to European<br />
issues taught in all the faculties concerned. The main areas of study are<br />
European Community law, the history of the European Community/Union,<br />
Community policies, European political institutions, European social integration,<br />
the formation of a European culture and identity. Besides its educational value,<br />
the Certificate programme pursues two further objectives: to produce a number<br />
of graduates with a qualification additional to their degrees (“diploma<br />
