The courses selected should constitute a coherent programme of study which<br />

furnishes the student with a solid grounding in the philosophy and science of<br />

education.<br />

The final thesis should deal with a topic in the field of education or teaching<br />

methodology.<br />

(b) Philosophy and art studies<br />

Students opting for this major are advised to select the following courses:<br />

− First year: among the demo-ethno-anthropological disciplines, Cultural<br />

Anthropology (M-DEA/01) for 9 credits, and among sociological subjects<br />

Sociology of Literature (L-FIL-LET/14) for 6 credits;<br />

− Second year: among historical disciplines: Contemporary History 8M-<br />

STO/04). Greek History (L-ANT/O2) and Roman History (L-ANT/O3) to earn<br />

12 credits, and Aesthetics (M-FIL/04) for 9 credit;<br />

− Third year: History of Science and Technology (M-STO/05) for 6 credits, and<br />

among scientific disciplines Anthropology (BIO/08). For the 15 free credits,<br />

the following courses: History of Medieval Art (L-ART/01), History of Modern<br />

Art (L-ART/02), History of Music (L-ART/07), History of Theatre and<br />

Performance (L-ART/05), History of Film Criticism (L-ART/06).<br />

The work experience placement may be undertaken in a museum, conservatory<br />

or a similar organization concerned with the arts.<br />

The student’s thesis should be supervised by a lecturer in Aesthetics,<br />

Theoretical Philosophy or Moral Philosophy.<br />

(c) Philosophy and science of communication<br />

Students opting for this major are advised to select the following courses:<br />

− First year: among the literary disciplines, Sociology of Literature 8L-FIL-<br />

LET/14) for 6 credits, and among the demo-ethno-anthropological disciplines,<br />

Cultural Anthropology (M-DEA/01) for 9 credits<br />

− Second year: among the historical disciplines, History of Political Doctrines<br />

(SPS/02) and Economic History (SECSS/02) for a total of 12 credits, and<br />

Aesthetics (M-FIL/04) for 9 credits;<br />

− Third year: Political Philosophy (SPS/01) for 6 credits, and Philosophy and<br />

Theory of Language (M-FIL/05), Sociology of Organizations and Marketing<br />

for the 15 free credits.<br />

The work experience placement may be undertaken in publishing or journalism,<br />

or in a museum, or a press office, or with conference organizers. The topic of<br />

the final thesis should be decided with the coordinator of the major course (Dr.<br />

Renato Troncon).<br />
