From the sea to your plate, exciting
culinary experiences await….
From our brew masters to our wine makers, from our farmers to our fisherman, we
have taken the art of cooking to new heights. Nova Scotian’s have a passion for
local food and during your visit you will have many opportunities to taste our
world-renowned seafood, organically grown produce and award winning wines.
What better way to fully immerse yourself in a Nova Scotia vacation than by
experiencing our local cuisine? You can cook your own lobster (fresh lobster sold
from the tank at Save Easy), pack a picnic lunch with a lobster sandwich and
blueberry pie (Jo-Ann’s Deli) or dine in one of our fine restaurants or pubs where
you can enjoy fresh fishcakes (Rebecca’s), Haddock Chowder (Kedy’s Inlet) Indian
Point mussels (Mug & Anchor Pub) or pan seared Fundy Shore scallops served with
Haskap Slaw (Mateus Bistro) just to name a few favorites.
For fresh, local produce go to the Mahone Bay Area Farmers’ Market on Tuesdays
from 10-2pm at the old Blockhouse Elementary School located at 63 School Rd in
Blockhouse (5 minutes from Mahone Bay).
Soon you’ll be eating like a local and taking home a new appreciation for fresh
seafood.
