PD.9 Centurion Mock Drill (Part 1 of 2)
Through this disaster drill, your ability to react to a major disaster event will be tested. The objective of the
drill is to provide an environment where you will be part of the senior team that will need to navigate your
organization to a successful recovery after a major disaster. You and your team will be presented with
challenges throughout the drill that will alter the sequence of events and impact your decisions to restore
critical services to your customers and protect your organization’s assets. The drill is action-packed and very
interactive with some fun sprinkled in. Not only will you learn how to deal with a disaster event from the
Centurion experts who have supported many customers through real disaster events, you will also learn from
many of your peers who have various levels of experience with healing from disasters. Your team will have
to respond to basic phases of the restoration timeline which includes: emergency and crisis management;
the notification, assessment, and declaration process; crisis and media communications; resource allocation;
and how to deal with both employees and customers. The drill is beneficial for executives since they are
responsible for the overall restoration process; department personnel since they are responsible for restoring
their area of operations; and for those who are responsible for restoring technology. You will leave with a
wealth of knowledge on ways to enhance your current plan, regardless of the condition of your plan. This
is part one of a two-part session.
