The Institute of Advertising Singapore (IAS)
was established in 1990 with the support of
3 trade bodies* and the Economic
Development Board (EDB). Successor to the
Joint Education Committee, its history dates
back to the fifties. The purpose for which IAS
was created was to train employees of their
respective associations, to assist them in
effectively securing relevant positions within
the industry. IAS is also registered as a Society
with the Registrar of Societies in Singapore.
With an alumnus of over 1,000 graduates,
relevancy for individual advertising and
marketing communications practitioners
nationwide. Its courses have gained
consistent international recognition with the
IAS Secures Government
‘Case Trust’ Status
IAS YEAR BOOK 2007/08
The Singapore Government took strong
action in 2005 to protect overseas students
coming to Singapore for training and
education from unscrupulous exploitation.
The Case Trust for Education scheme has
been customised specifically by CASE** for
the education industry in Singapore. The
scheme enhances the confidence of
international and local students in the quality
of education provided by education
providers which are Casetrusted. The
regulatory framework focuses on building
trustworthiness, professionalism as well as
business and academic excellence. IAS
applied for Case Trust for Education in July
2005, and after a process of due diligence
and meeting with CASE’s standards and
inspection, IAS was awarded the Case Trust
for Education in December 2005.
