ASICs EEA1xx / EEA001 ASICs Advanced controller for two phases step motor drives Main features: • With the ASIC components can be build drives with: Description: The ASIC series (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) has been designed to resolve all calculation and control problems for 2 phase stepper motor applications. Thanks to their features it’s possible to build with these components a customized Full Digital drive or to develop personal application control boards. The EEA1xx and EEA001 are complete Full Digital controllers around which to build higher quality drives for two phases step motors. They integrate functions of sequencer and drive power stages control and protection against overcurrent, over /under-voltage and over-temperature. Interfaced to the standard external controls (Step, Direction) or to Synchronous / Asynchronous serial interface the ASICs ensure the highest motor control performance in terms of rotation smoothness. They can execute Micro-stepping movements at resolution of up to 1/128 step with sinusoidal envelope (Maximum step frequency: 2.56 MHz). Besides, they feature a motor rotation smoothing tuning functionality to optimize the motor performance in every application in terms of: - high speed and torque at shaft; - low heating of the drives; - low vibrations; - low heating of the motor; - no resonances; - very low mechanical noise; - simplicity of the drive power stages hardware control. The interface to the drive power stages is designed to offer maximum compatibility with the most popular integrated circuits for the driving of MOSFET and IGBT gates, also being compatible with monolithic integrated circuits.
