Q: How is WAN optimization licensed in a <strong>XenDesktop</strong> 4 environment?<br />
A: The WAN optimization feature of <strong>XenDesktop</strong> 4 Platinum edition is enabled by the Repeater<br />
plug-in license. The WAN optimization feature is enabled when you deploy the Repeater plug-in<br />
license in conjunction with a Repeater appliance (85XX or 88XX series) or Repeater VPX virtual<br />
appliance. Note: appliances must be purchased in addition to <strong>XenDesktop</strong> 4 licenses.<br />
Q: Are there restrictions to the Repeater appliances that can be deployed in<br />
a <strong>XenDesktop</strong> 4 Platinum Edition environment?<br />
No. Any model Repeater appliance (including VPX) can be deployed in conjunction with <strong>XenDesktop</strong><br />
4. However, the WAN optimization feature of <strong>XenDesktop</strong> 4 Platinum edition is enabled by a<br />
Repeater plug-in license and to utilize that license requires the additional purchase of a Repeater<br />
appliance (85XX or 88XX series) or Repeater VPX virtual appliance. This provides customer<br />
maximum flexibility to choose the appliance configurations that best fit their network requirements.<br />
Q: Is XenApp for UNIX included in <strong>XenDesktop</strong> 4?<br />
A: Yes. <strong>XenDesktop</strong> 4 Platinum and Enterprise provide for both Windows and UNIX application<br />
delivery.<br />
