Performing Arts<br />
Circus<br />
Spend a week with Nick Miller, one of<br />
the CowGuys, and learn everything<br />
you need to know to become a<br />
professional circus performer. Unleash<br />
your inner clown as you practice<br />
techniques and prop manipulation with<br />
juggling, unicycling, stilt walking, rolo<br />

Dance<br />
Spend the week with one of our<br />
talented dance instructors learning<br />
all the latest moves in jazz, ballet,<br />
contemporary and hip hop. Become<br />
an artist and choreographer as<br />
you create and learn new routines<br />
in preparation for the big recital<br />
on Friday. All levels of dancers are<br />
welcome.<br />

Drama<br />
A program designed for stage stars<br />
and anyone interested in learning<br />
about the theatre. Learn lead and<br />
supporting roles and all about set<br />
and costume design. <strong>Day</strong>s are spent<br />
with our talented and dramatic staff<br />
playing acting games and working<br />
together to prepare a live theatre<br />
production for family and fellow<br />
campers in the auditorium on Friday.<br />
5-9 yrs $230<br />
Singing<br />
Join the show choir for a week and<br />
work on harmony, pitch and tone. Add<br />
in some show-stopping solos, duets<br />
and choreography and you’ll dazzle<br />
your friends and family during the<br />
Friday concert.<br />

Band<br />
Developed and directed by some of<br />
the best high school music teachers<br />
in Ottawa, this specialized program<br />
offers campers an opportunity to<br />
learn something new or to improve<br />
on their favourite instrument. This<br />
program includes lots of practice time<br />
in small groups and as a large group<br />
in Nepean High School’s music room,<br />
a recording session, and a concert in<br />
the auditorium on Friday for family and<br />
friends.<br />
Band Camp in Barrhaven<br />
Due to popular demand we are<br />
bringing Band Camp to Barrhaven!<br />
Each week features a trip to Nepean<br />
High School’s music room for a<br />
recording session and joint concert as<br />
one large band, and a Friday concert<br />
for family and friends.<br />
We offer three levels of Band<br />
Camp:<br />
Absolute Beginners 9-12 yrs –<br />
no experience necessary. Choose one<br />
week or stay for both weeks for just<br />
an additional $200. Available at both<br />
locations.<br />
Level 1 10-14 yrs – for students who<br />
have completed a full year of a band<br />
program in school. Available at both<br />
locations.<br />
Level 2 10-15 yrs – for students<br />
who have completed two full years<br />
of a band program and are playing<br />
at least a level 200 or 300. *please<br />
note that level 2 is offered only at the<br />
<strong>Dovercourt</strong> location.<br />

Bluesfest School of<br />
Music & Art (BSOMA)<br />
The Bluesfest School of Music & Art<br />
offers young artists a chance to<br />
learn from industry professionals<br />
and specialists. Campers will develop<br />
technical and musical skills; define their<br />
image; and build confidence for their<br />
big gig!<br />
Each day starts and ends at <strong>Dovercourt</strong><br />
while most activities take place at<br />
BSOMA, just a short walk from<br />
<strong>Dovercourt</strong>.<br />
11-16 yrs $310<br />
Beats & Bass DJ: Learn the ins and<br />
outs of DJ equipment, programs,<br />
beat-matching, mixing and the basics of<br />
scratching. Learn tricks of the trade like<br />
how to organize your music collection<br />
and how to market yourself for your first<br />
live gig. Campers will showcase their<br />
new skills at the RBC Bluesfest.<br />
June 29-July 3, July 6-10 & July 13-17<br />
Tech: Learn about what goes into<br />
producing a successful live music show<br />
from behind the scenes, including<br />
sound-mixing, lighting and instrument<br />
maintenance. This camp is fun for<br />
musicians as well as those who’d prefer<br />
to work outside of the spotlight. Includes<br />
a trip to a professional recording studio.<br />
July 20-24<br />
Rock U: Band coaches will work with<br />
current and potential band mates to<br />
prepare for a performance at the Ottawa<br />
Folk Festival. Bands will define their<br />
style, refine their talent and build stage<br />
confidence. Band mates will reunite in<br />
early September for a dress rehearsal<br />
in advance of their performance at the<br />
Ottawa Folk Festival. Campers must<br />
have basic abilities to play an instrument<br />
or sing.<br />
