CHANGES TO THE EDUATION MAINTENACE ALLOWANCE (EMA) 2013
The Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA) is provided to assist eligible
families with the cost associated to educate their children. New EMA payment
option: From 2013, on the EMA application form you can choose to have your EMA payment:
Paid to the school to be held as credit which you can use towards education expenses or
Paid by direct deposit (Electronic Funds Transfer) into your nominated bank account or
Paid by cheque which will be posted to the school for collection by you.
The introduction of the new payment option to have the EMA payment directed to the school provides parents
with extra flexibility to assist with budgeting towards education expenses.
CURRENT AND NEW PARENT HELPERS COURSE-LITERACY WORKSHOP –CHANGE OF DATES
The Parents Helpers Course session 1, for new parents (and those who have previously trained,)
scheduled to commence on Thursday 21 of February 2013 has been rescheduled. The new date will be on
Thursday March 7 at 9:15. a.m. as parents of Prep students have a coffee morning organised on that morning
and we would therefore encourage Prep parents to attend if possible. This is a wonderful opportunity to
meet new parents and have a chat. Our apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused. The date
for the second workshop on Writing will also be changed . Information will be given in a future newsletter as
to the new date for Writing. If you are able to attend on Thursday March 7, we would greatly welcome your
attendance and support.
DISTRICT SWIMMING TEAM
Congratulations to all of our students who tried out for the District Swimming team last Monday at Genazzano
on Friday afternoon. Our 9/10 year olds will now compete at Aquarena pool in Doncaster this Thursday in the
Box Hill District Swimming carnival. We wish them all the best and hope they enjoy the competition. Our
