School Community encompasses the following areas: Parents, Parish,
School Advisory Council, Wider Community.
CANTEEN
The canteen operates each Monday and Friday. Students
may pre-order their lunch in the morning using a
bag. Snacks are purchased at the canteen. There will
be no sushi available on Monday until further notice.
Parents are rostered to assist on Mondays and Fridays.

NOTICEBOARD STEWARD
A volunteer is needed to copy and enlarge the newsletter
each week for display on the PA noticeboard, and
for posting of PA material. It takes about 10 minutes a
week, and does involve dealings with the photocopier
(!). If you can help, please contact Judy lees at

THURSDAY 28 FEBRUARY
The Parents’ Association invites the Junior
School (Year Prep, One and Two) families
and siblings to an afternoon of fun at the
Kew Traffic School, from 3:30 - 6:00 pm on
Thursday the 28 February. BYO bikes, scooters and
helmets.
PREP DINNER
Invitations were distributed to all Prep parents this
STUDENT BANKING
Student school banking commenced last week. Please
send bank books in on Thursday via the class basket.
Forms for new accounts are available in the hanging
basket at the atrium/hall door.
SCHOLASTIC BOOKCLUB
The flyers for Scholastic Bookclub were sent home last
week. All orders must be returned to school via the
class basket by Friday 22 February. No late orders will
be accepted.
AFTER SCHOOL HOURS PLAYGROUND USE
Any group using the school playground for training purposes
after school, must have permission from the
Principal and complete an ‘After School Hours Playground
Use Permission Form’. This is a legal requirement
to ensure students are adequately covered by insurance.
PARENTS’ ASSOCIATION
CLOTHING POOL THURSDAY FEBRUARY 21
The PA will be running a Clothing Pool sessions on
Thursday February 21st 9:00 - 9:30 am and 3:00- 3:30
PM. We urgently require wire hangers. If you have any
spares, they can be left at the office or in the PA room.
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
The Parents’ Association Annual General Meeting will
be held on Wednesday 6 March at 7:30pm in the
school staffroom. Everyone welcome!

is to warmly welcome you to the OLGC community. It is
a wonderful opportunity to socialise with other Prep families
and teachers. Please check your child’s communication
bag for your invitation and mark the date on your
calendar.
LEGO AND GIANT CHESS SET
The PA made the presentation of a giant chess set and
a second giant soft Lego set to the school at assembly
on Friday. The Lego has proved to be a tremendous
success with encouraging parallel and cooperative play
between the students and the little brothers and sisters.
The purchase of the chess set has been very timely,
with the start of the Wednesday Chess club. A big thank
-you goes to all who have supported fundraising for resources
for the children.
WELCOME DRINKS PARKING
There is an event at the church that will be concluding
as the Welcome drinks is commencing. There may be
some traffic congestion as the parishioners are leaving
the school grounds. We trust that the usual care and
patience will be shown.
VOLUNTEER SIGN UP SHEETS
The sign up sheets for PA activities and events were
sent out last week. We have had wonderful support
from school families in previous years. Involvement with
social and fundraising activities is a great way for new
members of the school community, in particular, to get
to know one another.
